Lenovo Y520 power button stuck or broken

Hello,

I had the same issue and I had to break the button. I'm now turning it on with a spoon (you need metal to make the connection...)

Then the only solution seems to be this one:

I'm not really sure how to do it :p

Configuration: Windows / Chrome 98.0.4758.82

Hello

I don't really know how to do it

It's actually simple, either you follow the tutorial and you have the tools/parts/knowledge, or you ask a repairman.

Best regards

The procedure is not simple at all, I'm afraid of the cost of a repairman and I'm looking for a quick solution (I use this computer daily for work, I can't leave it with a repairman for days). Other possible solutions: For example, starting with different keys or finding a connector to replace more easily instead of the power button (even a spoon can do it!!)
But well, I may have to resign myself to asking a repairman.

Except that something is broken here, we can't start with another button. So the only way is to replace it. Another fix would require disassembly in any case.

I heard about the following function in the BIOS but can't find it at the moment in my case: "You will find an option labeled 'USB keyboard/Remote Power On'. By selecting 'Enable', you disable the power-on button, which will be replaced by pressing any key on the keyboard."

If the BIOS is equipped with it, yes...

buy a push button on amazon or cdiscount (around €13) and take apart the bottom shell, then the motherboard and resolder the button, it's not too difficult, there are tutorials on youtube.
