Hello,
This morning when I opened my PC, a large blue window appeared (almost the entire screen) with the message "Initialize your PC configuration."
I had experienced this about a year ago, thinking it was some sort of update; I clicked OK, but it led me through a whole process, including signing up for a Microsoft account or signing in if I already had one, which was my case, except that... they told me they had no record of that email address (which I never changed). After that, it was a surreal situation because to contact them, I needed to provide my credentials, which were unrecognized, so I was going in circles. Annoyed to no end, I turned off my PC and everything went back to normal...
... until today when this window came back. This time I clicked on "Remind me in 3 days," so I could contact you before: what is this window? Can it be ignored? There is no "close" option, only "remind me in 3 days," and I'm afraid that in 3 days I won't have a new delay option.
"Thank you for your insight," as TV presenters say to their special correspondents... :-)

Hello,
The message should rather be "finalize the Windows setup"...
And, it's to encourage the use of Microsoft's (non-essential) services.... and indeed then have a lot of trouble getting rid of the unnecessary...
Personally, not having a Microsoft account and not wanting one, when this window appears from time to time (usually a few days after an update) I also click on "remind me in three days"... and most of the time it doesn't come back for several weeks...
There are certainly other methods to get rid of it, but the one I use, just a simple click, is more than enough for me....

A big thank you for getting back to me so quickly. I'm marking it as resolved, but I'll see if I can still intervene on the wording of my question, so that someone who has the same query can come across it on a search engine.
Have a nice day and a good end of the week to you.
P.S., 1 minute later: well, darn, I can't intervene anymore. What needs to be done is to delete this thread altogether...
That said, you can easily get rid of it via Settings-System-Notifications:

Thank you, and have a good end of the day/week as well.
