What to think about the Washing Machine X9 software?

Hello, I would like to know your opinion on the Washing Machine X9 software for a mid-2012 MBP running Catalina

    Hello,

    I have never used this paid application, but while looking at the Intego website, I discovered what it does, namely:
    - recycling (removing unnecessary files)
    - searching for duplicate files
    - organizing the desktop and the Dock "for optimal efficiency" (according to the website)

    For the first activity, there are free applications that do this very well, such as Onyx (install the special Catalina version)
    For the other two activities, I don't really see the point unless you have a disk space problem.
    When that happens, often it's enough to clean up yourself by searching for the largest files using tools like GrandPerspective or
    OmniDiskSweeper (be sure to choose the version based on your MacOS version) or JDiskReport (but it requires Java…)

    Personally, I have been doing without it for my 25 years on Mac
