Hello,
I can no longer open a final file, and it's the only one I can't open. It says "unable to set position in the file" followed by the file location and "attempting to move the file pointer before the beginning of the file."
I'm losing my mind here, hours of work lost...

Hello
I'm not going to help you on this topic.
Just to mention that here the pointer is not the mouse (Windows is not to blame) but the fact that the program cannot find the file header because it is either poorly saved or corrupted.
Because a computer file has a header that contains essential information such as its type, size (start/end), etc... And to open a file, the program must absolutely find this information that its "pointer" cannot locate at the beginning of the file in your case.
It's likely that your file was damaged during saving: too quick closure of the program before the saving is complete, shutting down the computer before it's done, power outage, network or internet disconnection.
This is even more common when the file is large and therefore takes a long time to save.
There is rarely a solution...
See you later
If the answer helped you, a small thank you is nice... Your issue resolved, the green button at the top is better ;-)
Let him who has never opened a user manual throw the first mouse at me.

Thank you for your response,
it's strange the file is lightweight and I save regularly. The question is, what solutions are there to recover what has been lost?

Hello
Do you have an idea of the size + or - your file should be?
Maybe you need to display hidden files for the occasion (Explorer, View menu, Options, View tab, check Show hidden files.....).
You can look in the Temp folder ( %UserProfile%\AppData\Local\Temp ) of your session to see if a file of roughly equivalent size exists.
If yes, make a copy on the desktop, change its extension if it's different from the intended one, and try to open it.
But there’s no guarantee of success.
See you!

Thank you, it is 76kb.
I tried to copy the file from the temporary folder, I changed the extension from .tmp to .mus (the final extension) but it doesn't work. Maybe I'm going about it the wrong way.

Hello
No, but it doesn't always work.
76 KB seems quite small to me, what's supposed to be inside?
See you+
