Use "trigger" in slide masters

Hello,

I'm trying to create a slide master to use as a template for multiple projects.

I'm trying to use the "trigger" function but I'm having some issues.

First of all, in my search for a solution, I came across this post that is already a bit dated but explains very well how to use the trigger mode. The catch is that this works very well in normal slides, but when you enter the masters, it gets complicated.

Good evening. For example, you can add a text box with your description.
1) Select this text box
2) Animation tab, add an animation (for example: Fade)
3) Open the "Animation Pane"
4) Select the effect you just added, on the right in the pane
5) Right-click > Timing > Triggers
6) Check "Start effect on click of" and select your image from the list."

So:

- I can use the trigger mode when I place two objects on my master, so to make one object appear by clicking on another object
- I can't use it if I want to make text (or an image) appear
- I can't use it if I want to click on an image (or text)

Does anyone have a solution for me? Otherwise, I can position the different elements in advance and animate everything when I'm in slideshow mode (rather than master) but then I would have to do it for each project that uses these slides.

Thank you very much! :)

Antoine

Good evening,

I'm not sure I understood correctly...

The trigger object allows you to start the animation of any object, but the object in question must be in the same location as the trigger.

So, to make text appear via a trigger located in a slide layout, the text must be a placeholder in that layout.
To make an image appear, similarly, it must be in a placeholder.

If I didn't understand, please try to explain more.

Hi Marina,

Thank you for your reply :)

You understood correctly, and the placeholders, in this case an image placeholder triggering a text placeholder, are both in the same template. However, the trigger option does not appear. Only if I use objects.

Does that clarify the situation?
