Print Head Error Code 1403 and B203

Question

Hello everyone,  I have a Canon Pixma MG6852 printer.  For some time now, I've been getting two messages.  The first message shows error code 1403:    Then, the second message shows error code B203    I've tried everything, removing the cartridges and the print head, cleaning the print head, re-inserting the cartridges, etc.  I have also tried all the possible solutions found online, and nothing works.  I think the print head is defective.  What would you recommend I do?  Should I replace the print head or buy a new printer?  Have a good day everyone  Cédric

Hello,  You should first try to make a photocopy, using only the printer's buttons and disconnected from the PC... It's important to distinguish whether the problem is related to the printer or the PC. OK, it's a good start... I think what you've done has had positive results but not lasting enough... and there's a problem with the print head... You need to keep at it...  In my opinion, there must be particles of ink that have dried, clumped in the internal micro-channels of the print head...  To dilute and remove this, you can soak the head, from the side of the nozzles, without submerging the electronic parts... just using your fingertips... for 24 hours, with a solution of 80% window cleaning liquid...  Then you can use a syringe without forcing it, to suction or pump the tubes of the head, several times... Don't let it dry, just wipe it and replace the head...  Put a drop of L.V. liquid in each cartridge outlet hole... put everything back in place and print a large image rich in colors...  That's the principle..

To be honest, I can't quite make out this ribbon in your photo... I had to capture it to enlarge it as much as possible, I can see this ribbon at the bottom, but not the cut...  Is the internal conductor really cut..? Does this conductor serve any purpose..? Is it within the perimeter of the print head..?  You can put tape over it, on both sides, to reinforce it..  We need a closer photo, in Macro, with good definition and uploaded to cjoint.com, then you can provide the link here... it’s easier for us to work on the image in these cases.  Has this printer not been printing for a long time..? Or without a cartridge for quite a while..? Or with empty cartridges..? Has this printer accumulated many hours of use or years..?  -- Does it directly display its error messages..? And is it not possible to make a print, even with defects..? Has it not shown any signs of anomalies in the previous moments..? A specific color that no longer worked for example..?  Could this ribbon be the one that detects the type of print head... considering the error message 1403..?

So the printer doesn't stay inactive for long, generally speaking, it prints about once every 3 weeks. The cartridges are always in it, and I change them as soon as one is empty. I've had it for about 5 years.  However, sometimes when I turn it on before printing a document, it takes a little while, about a minute, before the printing starts. Yes, this photo is much better, I can see the tablecloth well; I don’t think there are any cuts, the tracks seem wide and robust enough..  It seems to go into a pin connector, you can try to wiggle it a bit (without forcing) to make the contacts move,  Aside from the ink clogging in the print head, I would lean more towards dirt on a transparent disk, or a graduated rule, something like that..  Be careful: you need to be patient with these machines, I've seen print head cleanings start working three days later... it doesn't work right away..  Not all heads operate on the same principle, and if a resistor is cut inside, or a piezoelectric cell, nothing will help, you'll eventually have to change the head; but with the forum's distance, it's impossible to guess.

The printing principle at Canon is based on heating ink tubes (in the head), which creates a bubble that deposits a micro drop of ink on the paper.. Hello,  I left my printer aside for a few days, and today I turned it back on to check. I managed to print a photo in standard quality and a photocopy of a document.  And the two error code messages appeared again, error code 1403 and B203.  I even reset the cartridges and nothing works.  I think the print head is faulty.  I wish you a good evening. Here is a method found online, you can try it.  1. Turn off the printer 2. Open the cover as if you want to change the cartridges 3. Turn on the printer 4. Wait for the print head to start moving to the left, and let it go at least halfway. 5. Before the print head reaches the left side, but after it has gone at least halfway, lower the cover 6. Leave the printer on 7.
