Pixma MX495 printer error code B204 and still under warranty

Here is my experience and the solution to the problem, b204

PIXMA MX495 printer with error 204.
I contacted the CANON platform, and the response is the same as displayed on your printer's screen: the error requires a technician's intervention... lol! Cost of the intervention is about €60
In other words, throw it away and buy another one.

The issue only comes from the "ADAPTABLE" cartridges, sold at an exorbitant price; the internal electronic chip in the cartridges is not updated, so after a certain amount of use or printed paper, they stop working and trigger error 204, even if you just bought and installed them.

I went out tonight to buy CANON 545 black and 546 color cartridges, I unplugged the printer, removed the "SWITCH" brand cartridges, bought last week at "BUREAU VALLEE," and finally installed the original "CANON" cartridges. I plugged the printer back in, and like magic, I became a technician, LOL! The printer works perfectly!

I would like to point out, however, that the pack of 2 cartridges cost me about €28 and the empty "CANON" cartridges are taken back at "BUREAU VALLEE" for €3 each.
So do the math, you save money by buying the original.

I am not advertising here. I'm merely denouncing a monumental scam from these big companies, at a time when everyone is being asked to avoid waste.
