Unable to use RICOH SP112 printer

Solved

Hello,
I have a problem with a RICOH SP112 printer.
Since I reinstalled Windows 10, it no longer works.
I installed the drivers, tried to find it using the Windows installation assistant but nothing works.
However, my computer does detect the connection of a device when I plug in my USB cable because there is a sound signal.
I tried all the USB ports (they work with other devices).
The catch is that it was working fine before.

Here’s what I have installed:
- Smart organizing monitor for SP 110 series (which does not detect the printer)

- DDST Printer Driver (found on the RICOH website)

I’ve done some research but came up empty. That’s why I’m turning to you.

Thank you in advance
Thomas

Hello, the solution for RICOH Sp 112su and I assume for all Ricoh that provide the driver in the format of sp112su.

1/Download the print driver.

HERE or on the Ricoh site ->

https://support.ricoh.com/bb/pub_e/dr_ut_e/0001291/0001291488/V101/r74516fr.exe
do not install it immediately.

2/Download Smart Organizing Monitor.

HERE or on the Ricoh site ->

https://support.ricoh.com/bb/pub_e/dr_ut_e/0001260/0001260764/V103/r64399L13.exe

Once downloaded, unzip it with WinRAR and then install it via the setup in the output folder.
Install using the setup file in the zip extraction output folder

3/Download the scanner driver.

Here or on the Ricoh site ->

https://support.ricoh.com/bb/pub_e/dr_ut_e/0001260/0001260726/V101/r64377L12.exe

Once downloaded, unzip and install via the setup from the output folder.

Once the previous steps are completed, go to settings -> then devices and in other devices (if other printer shows up, uninstall it by selecting it and clicking on manage and remove the driver of the latter if prompted).

Then go to printers & scanners on the left side of the screen
then add a printer or scanner, the printer will normally not be found.
Click on I can't find the printer I'm looking for in the list.
Then select add a local or network printer with manual settings and then click next.

Then select use an existing port, then in the dropdown go down to USB if your printer is connected via USB or other if it is connected otherwise

Then next and click on provided disk,
once the window opens go to browse select,
in C->Downloads then the folder you created by unzipping the print driver in the first step which is normally named (R74516en),
then in this folder DISK1 select the file RXEG2GDI click open and finally OK then the installation should take place and your printer will be installed. For scanning, I recommend downloading the scanner app from the Microsoft store under Windows 10.

Sorry if my post isn't well-structured but I'm not very used to forums, I'm just posting this to solve the problem. Best regards, Obscure19

Hello,

It was working fine before... But not under Windows 10... that's the problem... There’s no need for obsolescence; the release of new versions takes care of that...!!!

Download your printer driver from this site... For Windows 10 64 bit, I hope your version of Windows 10 is indeed 64 bit... and do not install it right away.
https://support.ricoh.com/bb/pub_e/dr_ut_e/0001291/0001291405/V101/r74499en.exe

Completely uninstall your printer and its drivers from your PC, unplug the USB cable, and restart the PC...

When the PC has restarted properly, install the drivers you just downloaded... and only plug in the USB cable when prompted...

And restart the PC again... and then, normally, you should find your printer...

Give that a try... and let us know...

Hi! Thanks, but I've already done all that, several times.
I'm at a standstill because I don't see what else to do...

So, sorry, we lost some time, you didn't mention all that in your POST.

Now, on the Ricoh website, it says that you also need to install this to control it from the PC.

https://support.ricoh.com/bb/pub_e/dr_ut_e/0001260/0001260764/V103/r64399L13.exe

If you go to "Devices and Printers," does this printer exist..??
If yes==>Print Properties==>Ports.... which port is it on..??
If no==> Add a printer... you use an existing and free USB port and continue the installation...
Is it properly connected to a USB port on the PC..? and not to the BOX or something else..?
It could also be blocked by your Antivirus or Bitdefender.. or something similar..

What was the previous version of Windows..?? where it was working..? otherwise, it might be possible to install it in compatibility mode (Win 7, or XP)

I sold this printer a while ago and bought another Ricoh that works very well.
But to still answer the questions:
Yes, the printer was listed in "Devices and Printers", I don't remember which port.
It was correctly connected to the PC via USB.
No antivirus blocking either, I disabled everything.
I don't remember the exact version but it was like now, Windows 10.

Good evening,
I currently have the same problem as you
I had to change my PC recently, so now I'm on Windows 10, and I can't print
The device is detected, but it's listed as Unspecified, rather than under printers
Since this summer, maybe you've found the miracle solution ;-)
Thank you in advance if you read this

Hello,

I think the reason lies in the new PC and Windows 10... what were you using before..?

Unfortunately, the user never responded, so we can't know much...

The advice I had given is still valid for you...

How is it connected ..??

-- That said, I think you should download the driver for your printer and for Windows 10 from the Ricoh website

-- Uninstall your printer... +++ Restart the PC

-- and as soon as it restarts, install the driver you downloaded before.... Restart the PC

Try to print...

Hello, I have lost the installation CD for my Ricoh SP 112 printer, could you send me the drivers? I have tried several times on the manufacturer's site, but I don't understand anything. Thank you.
