Hello everyone,
I need to modify the footnote numbers by adding brackets.
The footnote numbers should also link back to the text when clicked.
Thank you for your help.

    Good evening,

The first point is far-fetched, see here, Copyright Marina here present:

For the second, you need to replace the footnote number with a hyperlink or insert one in the footnote area, I will get back to you if I find one.

On the second point, nothing less silly was found than inserting a bookmark at the point of return in the text where we left off, then, in the footnote, right-clicking, inserting link, place in this document, bookmark.

I tried, but what I need is to be able to just click on the number in the text or in the footnotes instead of using ctrl + click, like in the link below.

      Is it possible with Word?
      Thank you for your response.

        I don't know, regarding a bookmark, I'm not sure.

The publication you mentioned is in HTML, and there we can indeed do whatever we want without any problem, but HTML, by definition, is online; on the other hand, if we have to write articles, dissertations, theses, or whatever you want, there is nothing to click, and that's why I was initially surprised by your question, since the bibliographic standard does not include brackets.

Word has an HTML editor that I don't use and which might provide a solution of that type, but it's a bit of a hassle (visited or unvisited links have a default color) so it would be better to write everything with an HTML editor (if you don't have one and it's only about writing at length, Kompozer is free and sufficient).

I will check with the person who asked me to add brackets because the guidelines provided by the publisher did not require brackets for the numbers.
    There may be a misunderstanding.
I will get back to you here when I know more.
    Thank you again!
