Hello,
I have a problem. Can someone help me?
I have a Lenovo laptop with Windows 10. I work from my PC as a teleoperator.
I use X-Lite as a softphone. When I make calls, I hear very well but my interlocutor understands one word out of ten or nothing at all.
My audio device is Conexant SmartAudio, which I think is not compatible. I installed Realtek but it doesn’t appear in the device manager. Only the Conexant shows up as the default device. Although Realtek is installed correctly.
I went to the settings, everything is okay according to Windows, updated the drivers, same issue.
Can you please help me or are there any other audio devices aside from Realtek and Conexant?
Thank you in advance
Configuration: Android / Chrome 91.0.4472.120

Hello
You cannot manually install just any driver on a machine; the driver is associated with the hardware in your machine.
You can find the correct drivers either on the Lenovo website by providing your machine's information or through Windows 10 Update if it is already installed.
However, nothing prevents you from adding an additional USB sound card to your machine.
See you later

Hello
Thank you for your response.
That's what I think I already have, but the result is still the same. The person doesn't understand much; sometimes it sounds like a robotic voice.
I had this problem about a year ago, and it was resolved, but I can't remember how. I believe it was by changing the application to replace Conexant.
I have noticed while browsing the forums that Conexant causes issues for many people (under Windows 10).
What else could I do?
Thank you. -

Windows 10 is not up to date.
To update it to version 21H1:
Download this -->> MediaCreationTool21H1 <<--
Run it
Check --> Upgrade this PC now

It seems to be a link to download Windows 10
I don't understand because I'm already on Windows 10. -

Yes, just for a sound issue indeed. You should know that this little problem prevents me from working because I am a teleoperator... so it's a big problem for me because I am unemployed.
It's not for watching movies!
Thank you -
Hello
I'm not saying it's not a good idea, but launching into heavy procedures from there... If it's just to block everything! I don't see the advantage...
I'm asking the question again because it's not clear...
Are you using the "integrated" sound card of the machine or an "additional" card like the USB model that I recommended to you??
See you later

Yes, it's the built-in sound card.
I don't have an additional card and
I don't think it's the issue. As I mentioned earlier, I can't remember the steps I took (installing Realtek or the driver from the Lenovo site for Windows 10) but it worked well.
Then, I encountered this problem again (i.e., the person I was speaking with heard unbearable crackling noises).
Then, I performed a factory reset as recommended, and now when I make calls, my interlocutor hears a robotic voice.
So if there's an easier solution, I'm definitely interested.
I look forward to hearing from you. -

I performed a factory reset
Okay, so that’s already done!
Also, problem with Windows updates since then?
Windows key + X
Device Manager
Go to sound, video and game controllers
Give the hardware ID of the Conexant audio
Check this --> Find the device identification number
Post the number in your next message.
Currently, what is the driver version and date?
