Hello!
I have a small problem with the beginnings of some videos when using VLC; sometimes one of them has strange pixelation with flashing green (sometimes it's the previous video that replaces the flashing green, sorry I don't know the technical term for this problem), and it disappears after a little while. I've tried to see if it's the hardware acceleration, but it just reduces the duration before the image returns to normal when I disable it.
This started happening after a complete reinstall of my PC because I didn't have this problem before; I left everything at the default settings offered by VLC.
I don't remember installing any codecs, but is there a way to fix this problem with the beginning of videos?
Thank you in advance for your help.

Hello, to identify the problem, you should test with another player like Windows Media Player

    Hello,

Try going to Tools --> Preferences --> Video tab and set something other than Automatic in Output, like OpenGL or DirectX (DirectDraw) for example.
If that resolves your issue, then save this change.
If it doesn't work, then I don't know but try with another player (personally I use MPC-HC) as suggested by glandu.

Hardware acceleration, according to the forums, is still the main cause of this kind of issue but not for you...

Finally, make sure your drivers and everything are up to date as well as VLC.

    Best regards

I tried it on Windows Media Player and I have no issues, but I prefer using VLC for various reasons and options. I made the requested changes, and it causes or even worsens these strange pixelation glitches with added green at the beginning of certain videos.
VLC is on the latest version, and the graphics card is on the previous version compared to the current one. I will perform the installation and edit this post to see if it corrects anything.

Edit: it changes nothing; I didn't have this problem before. I've been experiencing this since I had to reinstall everything after formatting the hard drive. Before, I didn't need any settings; maybe I'm missing a video codec? But I don't remember if I had installed a codec pack, as I sometimes use WebM videos.

VLC does not use added codecs; it already contains everything necessary to play many different types of files.

Try, if you want, with the portable version of VLC or an earlier version to see if that makes a difference.

Well, it seems that this is the latest version of VLC 3.0.14, because I reverted to the previous version and the videos that had the problem no longer do, but what's strange is that the latest version of VLC does not indicate its version and Vetinari afterwards, whereas the previous versions did.
So I'll wait to see if the next version after 3.0.14 fixes the problem, but I'll stick with 3.0.12, the only one that seems to keep the videos stable.
    Thanks again for the help.

At home (portable version), it is indicated though:
