Move the fiber connection box.

Good evening,

We have been with Free for a year and would like to switch operators. However, we have a question:

The fiber arrives in the garage in a small box and the fiber cable is soldered into the box which is also in the garage.
We want to move this box to the room that serves as an office.

Is this possible and how does it work?

Thank you

Sincerely

Hello,
no, the fiber cable is not soldered in the box, it arrives at a PTO (a wall socket) and then connects via a fiber patch cord either to the box or to an external unit (ONT) to reach the box.
If the fiber arrives at this location, it means there is a communication cabinet and it is the right place.
From this cabinet, we connect the TV box and various devices through the wall-mounted RJ45 sockets.
If the Wi-Fi does not cover well from the garage, you need to add a Wi-Fi access point.

and ... There you go!

Between the DTI or PTO box and the box that is just before the router in your diagram, what type of cable is it? An RJ45?
Is it up to us to make the modification or to the new operator?

between the PTO and the ONT or the box, it's a fiber jumper (to get more technical simplex SC/SC, in the case of the Freebox SC APC/ SC UPC)
Once again,
I advise you not to change the location of the socket, if you haven't understood that.
What would be the purpose?
