Uber Eats refuses to remove the payment method.

Good evening,
I recently opened an Uber Eats account to order a meal with delivery.
However, I noticed on my Uber Eats account that they have stored my payment card, which is out of the question for me (it's super dangerous, and companies that have invested millions, even billions like Facebook, in security have still had their data hacked!).
So, I clicked on the Wallet tab on my Uber Eats account, then on "Remove my payment method," and the site shows a window with this message: "An error occurred. You cannot remove your only active payment method."
I have tried the process several times, but the same message keeps appearing.
I find it incredibly abusive to force us to link one of our payment methods to our account for it to remain "active."
And I'm sure that this practice is not legal.
How can I remedy this? I've read some forums where people have had the same issue, but there are no conclusive answers.

Hi everyone.
Quick method:
If you don't have PayPal: Create a PayPal account, add your card.
Go to the Ubereats website, add your PayPal account and remove your credit card from the site.
Go to PayPal, remove your credit card or if you're using it for something else, go to Settings, Payments, manage your automatic payments: Click on Uber and disable it!
