Hello everyone,
I have two XIAOMI AX1800 routers that I want to set up in a mesh network, one connected to the other via a 15m Ethernet cable.
I easily configure the first router, which creates a 192.168.31.xxx network (1 for this router)
When I try to add the second one as they call a new Mesh node, it says it can't find it. Even placing them side by side, with or without an Ethernet cable between the two.
On the other hand, I can configure this second router as a new one, and it creates a 192.168.21.xxx network (1 for it) and becomes a member of the other's network (IP 192.168.31.140)
I should add that the first router is on European ROM (set to France as the country) and the second one is on Chinese ROM. I think the only difference is the list of available WIFI channels ???
Do you see any way to create this Mesh network? Do I need to flash the router's ROM from Chinese ROM to European ROM? If so, where can I find the firmware?
Your opinions are welcome. Thanks a thousand in advance.

I found it!
It was indeed the ROM number.
By setting the router with the Chinese ROM as the main router, we can connect the one with the European ROM in a mesh network.
At the first launch of the browser at the address of the secondary router, it complains, saying that the regions do not match. It suggests changing it. Miraculously, the region "China" appears in the list, even though it was missing when I tried to change it in the settings of the European ROM router before.
On Miwifi, the network now appears mesh and I have 910 Mbps on a wired desktop / 500 Mbps on a laptop with an IPV6 card connected via WIFI throughout the house without difficulty transferring from one WIFI point to another / 320 Mbps on a smartphone connected via WIFI without IPV6
I hope this can help some people, even if the problem is a bit borderline.
Best regards.

But it's true that on paper, it's a product that should be a hit in terms of performance/price compared to what's available in the field.
Just one question, actually two...
Do you know if there's a way to configure the mesh in access point mode instead of router mode? That would really be a plus.
And... the wifi 6 (ax).
Do you have wifi 6 devices (I’m not talking about the backhaul network between the two APs)?
I'd like to know if a device connected via wifi 6 to the network does not hog the entire radio band at the expense of older devices that do not support it; I ask this question every time I have the opportunity on various forums and still have no answer.
