Hello,
I would like to update my BIOS, but being on Windows 10 and having an old HP Elitebook 8460p, the drivers on the HP website do not support Windows 10.
Is it possible to update my BIOS using the BIOS update for Windows 8.1?
Thank you for your attention.

Yes, I know, but it's for Windows 8.1. I was asking if I could download it and apply it from Windows 10 without any issues?

Hello,
Just because you have an updated BIOS doesn't mean you can install Windows 10 (it has nothing to do with it as jfmimi mentioned) and especially that you will have drivers for your computer for Windows 10. If HP hasn't released drivers for your computer to run on Windows 10, it's over... :((
At best, you can try with the ones from Windows 8.1.

You misunderstood me; my computer has been running Windows 10 for 4 years.
All the drivers were properly installed during the setup, only the video driver I installed to replace the default one was the version for Windows 8.1 since there are no dedicated drivers for my computer on HP's website. But apparently, the Windows 8.1 drivers are compatible with Windows 10. And since I’m using the default BIOS version, which dates back to 2011, I wanted to know if I could install the latest version that is normally made for Windows 8.1 (https://support.hp.com/fr-fr/drivers/selfservice/hp-elitebook-8460p-notebook-pc/5056942.
In short, is the BIOS update done from Windows using an MS-DOS command to launch it on startup? Or is it done in another way?-
The BIOS update is performed from the downloaded executable file "sp85528.exe"
Here’s what HP says:
Once the BIOS file is downloaded, you need to install it.
Find the file "sp85528.exe" in your browser window and double-click it to start the installation.
This file may also be found in the "Downloads" folder on your computer. We recommend restarting your computer after the installation.

I had downloaded it a while ago but hesitated to run it.
I just did, my BIOS has been successfully updated.
Thank you.
