Hello,
I have a problem with my JVC FXM105S; every time I want to rewind the tape, it shows "end of tape" blinking and I can't do anything except press stop. The other buttons work until I press the rewind button... If anyone can help, thank you.
Configuration: Android / SamsungBrowser 13.0

Hello,
it depends on how the end of the tape is detected...?
Some use tapes that have a metal layer glued to the tape... it makes contact or reflects light... if we exceed this "Sticker", the tape no longer has detection, and when rewound, it falls on it and detects "end of tape"... and stops when it is 10cm from the end....
Remedy: you need to rewind by hand, until you go past this area and then press the "Rewind" button and it will go all the way to the end...
There can also be something else, like a loose belt, sliding friction that is too much or not enough... especially if the device has been left unused for a long time...
But there is no one-size-fits-all solution, it depends on the principle of each brand of VCR.-
Thank you for your response. I bought it yesterday from a well-known second-hand site, and it hasn’t been used for a long time, indeed. Everything works properly except maybe for the batteries that drain quickly. The real issue is with the rewind button; as soon as I press it, it starts to rewind and won’t stop. It keeps rewinding without stopping, displaying a flashing end-of-tape message. The only button that can stop the crazy rewinding is the stop button, but after that, the screen turns blue with the same end-of-tape message, and the buttons don’t work anymore except for the rewind button. It’s a shame because the camcorder is like new, and the tapes were also new; they are TDK EHG45 VHSc.
But indeed, since it hasn’t been used for a long time, I’m really afraid that it might be a mechanical or electronic problem... It’s a shame since everything else works as long as I don’t rewind...

With reference to K7, it is impossible to know if it has a metal sticker or not, to detect the
end of the tape...?
-- I suspect that the camcorder works well...??? and that the problem comes from the cassette..? either it is not compatible with this camcorder, or it does not follow the correct tape path... Or the sensor is photoelectric and dirty; things like that...
-- Here is the manual that probably contains the explanation https://www.manualslib.com/manual/80670/Jvc-Camescope-Gr-Fxm106s.html?page=23#manual
On this device, you have to provide the duration or length of the tape... and it is based on that that the automatic stop occurs (page 23) you also need to reset to zero before inserting a new K7.
And the message "End of tape" appears throughout the rewinding... So take a look at this new side of things.
