Samsung TV wall mounting issue (missing threading)

Hello,
I want to mount my Samsung 32-inch U32T4305 television on the wall, but the threading is missing in the 4 holes of the TV. When I insert an M4 screw as recommended in the manual, nothing happens. The sellers at Boulanger also discovered this issue and have no solution. Do you know of a solution? Is it a manufacturing error? Is there an adapter available? Thank you.

Thank you for this response. I have no issues mounting my bracket to the wall since it is a multi-directional arm support. My problem is really the lack of threading in the holes of the TV. I don't see myself tapping into plastic knowing that in this case, the M4 screws won't be the right diameter. The lack of threading is present on a large number of Samsung TVs for sale.

    Hello,

In my opinion, the mount won't fit without the TV... we drill holes in the drywall and place Molly M4 anchors, using the tool to crush them... then we attach the mount and screw it in with M4 screws into the wall anchors...

--- We bring the TV in front of the mount, put the screws in the two top holes first and screw them into the back of the TV which has the threaded holes designed for that...

Then, the screws for the bottom....

It's not easy to hold in place. It's possible to cut off the heads of 2 screws and insert them into the holes in the back of the TV (diagonally for example)... they stick out, and we can slide them into the holes of the wall mount.... this allows us to hold the TV in place while staying in front of the holes... and thanks to that, we can put the two screws into the other holes...

Then, we remove the headless screws placed earlier and replace them with headed screws...

It's better to have hex head screws (6-sided) so that we can tighten them with a wrench or ratchet in the narrow space behind the TV...

If the holes in the back of the TV are not threaded, it must be a manufacturing oversight... or maybe there's a trick..!!... but it’s still possible to thread them using taps, with care and a bit of oil, to avoid breaking them in the holes...

Or are they using self-tapping screws..??

    Good luck and happy holidays!

OK, let's say a photo would have better clarified the ideas... Sorry.

To know if the screw will be the right diameter or not, you need to know the diameter of the existing hole...

And it’s not a big deal, just choose a slightly thicker screw, Diameter = 5 or even 6... here, you need to be precise...

If it's the same on all TVs, it means they anticipated another method... you need to read the documentation carefully...

Thank you again for your response, here is a photo. In the technical documentation that I have reviewed three times, it only specifies not to screw all the way down. The technicians at the Boulanger store are also surprised and see no way. Tapping a new TV seems too risky for now.
Thank you again and happy end-of-year celebrations

    Hello,
Your M4 bolts are indeed compliant with those specified in the manual

Hello, yes it is about M4 screws of the right size, but the problem is that there is no threading in the holes. We read all the notices with the sellers and we don't understand. I have another Samsung TV that is 5 years old and there are indeed threads.

My question concerns the thread of the bolt; it needs to be flat and not beveled or chamfered.

However, if the back panel is truly non-compliant and the television is new..

Yes, the screws are flat. Unfortunately, all the televisions are like that, so I don't see any solution.

All televisions are like that ????

The manual clearly mentions the possibility of wall mounting... and the 32-inch is no exception... the only constraint noted is that the bolts must be between 26 and 28 mm in length (See page 8)

If the product is indeed not compliant and Boulanger does not want to exchange it, contact Samsung

You are not responsible for any potential non-compliance; it is the seller's responsibility or, failing that, the manufacturer's to find a remedy to this issue.

Yes, all televisions and not just the 32 inches.
Thank you for the contact, I was planning to call them on Monday. I will also send them an email. After that, I would really like to keep a Samsung, so I'm still looking for a solution.

        hello
and by testing with longer screws.
otherwise test with a point to feel if there is indeed a thread, if not it is a manufacturing issue of the television

        Hello
We tested several screws and still nothing. I also think it's a design issue, but it's surprising for several types of TVs. And Boulanger hasn't heard of this problem yet, which still surprises me.

All the more curious... because if we look closely at your image, we see this
There is indeed a nut with threading...

Edit: are your bolts indeed 4 mm in diameter?

Oh, but yes, I'm silly, you're right, the thread is indeed at the bottom on one bolt. Thank you very much. However, it has a small diameter and a significant depth, which creates a large lever arm on a screw that's only 4 mm. In any case, thank you. Being sure of being right has opened my eyes ????. Thank you all, I will give it a try.

A 32-inch TV weighs between 7 and 8 kilos, so with 4 screws, I don't see where the problem is.

Yes, you need a screw that passes through the hole, with a diameter slightly larger than the screw, and further down in the back, there is a metal part with threading that is part of the TV chassis, where there is a solid anchor.

These screws are called "VESA," which is well known for wall mounts.
    https://findanyanswer.com/what-is-the-screw-size-for-vesa-mount

For an M4 screw, the thread pitch is 0.7 mm, which are indeed metric pitch screws.

To do a test, it would be possible to use a long screw to screw it in by hand at the bottom of the hole, just to check the existence of the threading (operation on the table).
