Hello,
With my old computer, when I performed a search, I would click in the search bar and the "search" tab would open immediately, allowing me to search for all images contained in that folder without entering a document name.
I was already using Windows 10 on that computer (which has died).
With my new computer, when I click in the search bar, the tab only appears after I have entered a word in that search bar.
I erased the word and restarted the search "kind: picture" and it brought up all the folders and images that have the word "picture" in their name...
Is there a way to restore the search function to how I used it before (maybe a checkbox in the properties)?
I absolutely need this functionality because I often reuse images (I never remember the name of the images). For example, I know I drew a plan of the premises, but I can’t remember the name I gave to the image or what subfolder I classified it in, and I can already tell you that I didn’t call it plan des locaux, and I know it’s in one of the 758 subfolders of my communication folder.
Thank you in advance for your help.
Cécile.

Hello,
I might be able to offer you a solution if you post here on the forum:
"man-showing-poker-face-while-taking-... jpg"
Image that appears on your screenshot, and whose full title I don't have...
Best regards,

Hello, I don’t understand your request to post on another forum.
My request is, "I want to search for all the photos on my PC or external hard drive or my phone when I connect it to my PC. Before changing computers, I had that option; now, on my new PC, this search doesn’t work.
Indeed, when you click on the search bar, the 'search' tab no longer appears automatically; I have to enter a name. That’s not what I want; I don’t know all the names of all the images in all the files.
A simple example that has been driving me crazy since this morning: I want to free up space on my phone: I plug in my phone, open it in Explorer, and then I can’t do anything because no matter how much I click in the search bar, nothing happens. So I type "a," and all the files containing an "a" start to appear. The search tab then shows up, so I jump at the chance, stop the search, delete the "a," select the type "image," and restart the search, and the result I get is "no items match your search." How is that? No images? When I know there are some since at the very least, there are the photos I've taken, the screenshots.
The reason I want this functionality is to be able to track down all those photos (and videos) that are saved without our consent, those unnecessary ad photos that show up everywhere online.
I have read all the articles, tried all the advice (including that of using the Windows "Photos" app except it doesn’t allow for searching on the phone connected to the computer (adding a folder -> my phone does not appear in the hierarchy).
So: how can I find all the photos without knowing their names?
Thank you in advance for your help.
