Hello everyone,

I have been getting a " imminent failure detected by the smart hard drive" error at startup on my desktop PC for 2 days now. After browsing the forum, I used CrystalDiskInfo, which tells me that my hard drive is in good condition at 99%. The main hard drive is a SANDISK - 240 GB SSD Plus Sata 3 that I've had since February 2016 and I have 2 additional hard drives for my photos, music, and videos. Here is the information I have:

If someone can guide me, do I really need to change the hard drive?
Thank you for your future replies.

    Hello
You also have "Hard Disk Sentinel" with more detailed results on the number of deteriorated sectors and the percentage of HDD/SSD failure. Download it here

    Hello,
the failing hard drive is the one connected to SATA port #1; according to the recognition order by CrystalDiskInfo, it would be drive F, but since it is in "blue good condition," it might be a false alert.

Well, I used Hard Disk Sentinel and it tells me that my SSD is about to fail...
Which software should I trust??? I'm lost, I don't really have the means to change the hard drive.

Make a backup of the disk as soon as possible.
      It may fail.

Since the disk is not on, cloning is risky (error)
I have a PNY SSD (good value for money)

As jfmmi said, you don't clone a damaged hard drive; it's like copying a book with missing pages.
You also have this SSD, which is very good; I use it without any problem on several PCs https://www.crucial.fr/ssd/mx500/ct250mx500ssd1. It comes in several sizes so as not to be quickly limited; get at least a 500GB SSD.

Thank you for the information, I will retrieve my important data and start with a clean slate then.
Thanks for the SSD recommendations, it's true that Crucial has good reviews, I'll look for a 500GB one, at least I'll be at ease.
        Thanks again.
