My touchpad stopped working after the Windows 10 update

Hello,

I apologize if I'm in the wrong section.

Following a Windows 10 update via Windows Update, I can no longer use the touchpad on my laptop.

Looking in the settings under the "Mouse" section, the Touchpad section no longer appears. Regarding the device manager, the "Mice and other pointing devices" section is also missing.

Is there a way to get my touchpad working again, or do I need to buy a wireless mouse to see if I can use my laptop again?

It's nearly impossible to use a laptop without a touchpad or mouse.

Latest version of Windows 10 2004.

    EasyNote ENTG71BM Packard Bell Acer.

It's been malfunctioning since the installation of optional updates. This is the first time this has happened to me.

Even pressing F6 with the hand icon on the touchpad doesn't fix the issue.

Download and install this driver, TouchPad_ELANTECH_13.6.3.1_W10x64_A.zip.

I just downloaded the driver. Folder open. Then I need to click on Setup and then on Run?

I just installed it. It hasn't changed anything. I still can't use the touchpad.

Is it a driver that may have been deleted from the computer?

When consulting the Packard Bell website, it says this.

"Please install the Serial I/O driver as a priority before installing the touchpad driver."

    Should I do that?

The touchpad is working again after installing the Serial I/O driver. I struggled without a touchpad or mouse, but I'm relieved! It's working again!

Thank you very much to "glg29" for their valuable help.

    The issue is resolved.
