Hello,
I have been using a Canon MX475 printer on a Windows 7 PC with USB connection for a year without any issues. I am now looking to integrate this printer into my home network so that we can use it from our mobile phones.
I have followed all the instructions in the manual (connection via WPS, manual, or otherwise), and each time the printer tells me that the connection is OK, but when I print the network configuration page, there is no value for the IP configuration.
I installed Wireshark on a PC, and I do not see any DHCP packets coming from the printer.
I have set a manual IP configuration, but I cannot ping the printer.
One thing that bothers me is that when I go into the printer's TCP/IP configuration, it always says: 'Network communication may be disabled, press [OK]'. Which I do every time..
Does anyone have any idea??
Thank you in advance.

Hello,
I'm keeping you informed about what I managed to do. Even with the USB disconnected and the drivers uninstalled on the PC, the printer never actually connected to the network (no DHCP request).
I tinkered quite a bit with the printer's network options and disabled IPv6 support (on the printer). From then on, it connected to the network and correctly retrieved the IPv4 address I assigned to it. It is recognized by all my mobile devices.
I also reinstalled it via USB on the desktop PC, and both (USB and WiFi) coexist very well. ;-)
