SMTP Server for Free (Zimbra)

Hello,

I have been struggling with my iPhone's mail app for several weeks now, and I can't manage to set it up correctly despite all my attempts and the advice I read on the websites.

No one can tell me where the problem is (my dad is set up exactly the same way as I am and it works for him!).

The IMAP receiving server works but the SMTP sending server does not, configured as follows:

smtp.free.fr
"Green button" server
Username and password for my mail account filled in
Use SSL "green button"
Authentication: password
Server port: 465 (note that I also tried with 587, to no avail)

With every attempt to send an email, it gets stuck in the outbox and an error message appears: "Failed to send the email, the connection to the sending server 'smtp.free.fr' has failed...".

It's enough to drive you mad! And of course, Free is completely unreachable...

Configuration: iPhone / Safari 14.0

Have you enabled authenticated SMTP in your account management interface?
