Hello,
I bought a bag over twenty years ago, and it just recently broke (made in France really means something!). I’ve realized that I have plenty of bags but I only use this one for many reasons: it goes with everything, it’s very beautiful, timeless....
Anyway, I decided to try to find this dream bag of mine so I can get another one for another twenty years of quality. After enduring countless evenings and evenings of flipping through catalogs on pages all over the internet, one day bingo: my heart races, I finally find the bag of my dreams on Le Bon Coin for €20 (just the bag, excluding shipping costs).
I want it right away, I don’t want to miss out, I won’t even try to negotiate the price to make sure I get it. And then, incredibly, there’s no “buy” or “pay” button: it looks like a big joke to mock both the buyer and the seller. No matter how hard I look, I just see “send a message” or “make an offer”! What the hell is this???? Seriously, even comedians can’t do this well, this site feels like a sketch!
So I send a message to the seller, making an offer even though I want that bag so much that I’m ready to pay the €20 right away. I see that my seller has been around for years, has over 100 items for sale but no comments or ratings, it’s not like Vinted where you can tell if the seller is reliable, here, nothing, no stars, no ratings.
I don’t even know if he agrees to send it via Mondial Relay, because I’ve never seen the “buy” button. The lack of common sense everywhere is mind-boggling but I award the palm to Le Bon Coin; honestly, why make it simple when you can make it complicated????
The seller doesn’t respond to my message nor my offer, and it’s impossible for me to see if he has read my message because unlike Vinted, we can’t see the date and time of the seller’s last connection. I feel like this is a very poorly thought-out site (especially since it’s a well-known site, I’m not dealing with an amateur site), it doesn’t seem modern at all, it hasn’t been able to keep up with the modern age compared to competitors like Vinted.
For example, I can’t see how many buyers have favorited the item, which is useful to know if the item interests others or not at all. It helps to know if we can negotiate the price or not. So, if one day my seller finally wakes up and responds to my offer, how can I finally buy the bag of my dreams via Mondial Relay or another relay?
I looked on Le Bon Coin’s website, it’s complicated right from the title which is called “how to INITIATE a sale?” it sounds like a tedious thing, even the title reflects all the tediousness, the lack of modernity, and the complexity of this site whose slogan could be “why make it simple when you can make it complicated?”
Thank you in advance for your knowledge about this site that needs major improvement!

Hello,
You say the site is complicated, but I find your lengthy messages quite complex compared to the site, which is not that difficult to use after all.
There is an ad, you can contact the seller and arrange with them, that’s all, it’s simple.
Some sellers don’t want to respond to messages and mention it in the item description. If the seller doesn’t reply to your messages, personally I wouldn’t linger.
And on the LBC messaging system, you can see if the other person has read your message or not (difference between the status "sent" and "seen").
So regarding your bag, if the seller doesn’t respond, you can’t force them, so too bad.
And also:
I’m not sharing the link to my bag because someone else other than you might find it nice and buy it.
Now that borders on paranoia; you don’t know the participants, what are the odds that someone suddenly wants this bag just because you show it to us...

Because in no way am I insulting...
I will not continue this nonsensical conversation.
Do you really think that if I take the time to intervene on a help forum, it's to insult you? Knowing how to take a certain step back with words is above all a sign of intelligence. If I wanted to treat you as you say, a "great mental case," I would have written it that way.
And regarding this obsession with the "buy" button, once again, leboncoin is a website for buying between individuals, which means you can't just buy an item when you see it. You have to arrange with the seller what is possible.
