Unable to install Optifine Solved

Question

Hello,

I want to install the latest version of Optifine 1.16.1 for Minecraft. I found the right link, downloaded it, opened it, and when I click on "install," it shows me this message:

"Cannot find Minecraft 1.16.1.
You must download and start Minecraft 1.16.1 once in the official launcher."

I then launched Minecraft through the official launcher - my version is 1.16.2. I tried again... Nothing.

I closed Minecraft... I tried again... Nothing, nothing, and nothing... Still the same message...

Is the problem due to my version? I have already used Optifine with an older version than the latest one...

Can someone help me, please? :'(

Hello, you can create a new version in 1.16.1 by going to "Configurations" > "New...", opening the dropdown menu, and selecting "release 1.16.1". I'm sending you some photos to help you navigate.

Hello again, if I understand correctly, you tried to fix the problem yourself by installing Minecraft 1.16.2 through the official launcher, but the version of Optifine you downloaded is 1.16.1. Try launching your Minecraft 1.16.1 before installing your Optifine.

Yes, that's right. The latest version of Optifine is 1.16.1, but the game has already moved on to 1.16.2. I thought it would work anyway... Unfortunately, I don't know how to revert the game to a previous version. However, I also have an older version of Optifine, 1.15.2, which allows me to switch the game to 1.15.2. But with the 1.16.1, that's not an option for me...
