SMS pending connection

Solved

Hello,
I have a strange problem with my Honor 8 dual SIM phone (personal and work SIM) recently (probably since the last system update).
For a particular contact, when I send a text message from my personal SIM, the SMS is stuck waiting for a 4G connection. There are no issues with my work SIM. I suppose the problem does not come from the phone...
I deleted the contact and created it again.
I cleared the sending history.
I restarted the phone and turned it off/on.
Both SIM cards are SFR. The contact is also with SFR.
No issues with other contacts.

Do you have any idea, please?
Best regards

Hello,
An idea... No.
Have you followed up with a text message to your contact?

Hello.

I’m replying because I found myself in the same situation, and it took me a while to figure it out.
Out of the blue, for some messages with certain contacts, I couldn’t understand why I had to connect to the internet via mobile data or Wi-Fi for my SMS messages to be sent (otherwise, there was a message saying: waiting for connection) or to be received (I’m not connected to the net all the time).
I also realized that the problematic messages I was sending had a dark blue background, while others that went through had a light blue background.
By editing the messages, I eventually realized that I was sometimes sending RCS "Rich Communication Services" instead of SMS.
Basically, RCS is a "super SMS" where you can theoretically include much more, but it always goes through the internet, so via 4G or Wi-Fi and not through the GSM network of mobile phones.
To disable this thing, you need to go (on Android) into the messaging app, tap on the three little dots at the top right, go to Settings, then Chat features, and turn off "Enable chat features."

The same problem occurred on my wife's phone. We never activated the option, though. We both realized that it appeared after an update of our phones in early August 2020.
