HELP !!! Unable to restore my data in Ciel Auto Entrepreneur 12.21

Hello,

I've been using Ciel Auto Entrepreneur (1.3) on my good old desktop PC with Vista 32bit for 10 years.

I inherited a recent laptop with Windows 10 Pro and installed the latest version of Ciel Auto Entrepreneur 12.21 (paid €48 for that)....

I'm trying to restore my backups (USB stick) from the old version, but when I open the .sgind file, an error message appears:

Error: incorrect parameters
File: e:\....(file path....) .sgind

HELP !!!!!

I cannot afford not to restore them!!! client files for over 1000 clients and all my ongoing invoicing!!! daily use!!!

The worst part is that I can no longer launch the old version on my old PC..... when launching, I get this message:

Error: Damaged application
Message: error: Non-existent file
File: c:\Program Files\Ciel\Professionnel indépendant\Compléments\Divers\Config.cam

Ciel's customer service tells me that my zip file (my backup) is damaged and that they can repair it for €90 and thus be able to open it!!

Does anyone have an idea or a solution?

    Are you starting the restoration from the new installation by retrieving the backup from the USB key?

    What I'm afraid of is that the backup of your old version may not be compatible with the new version of the software... This is often the case when the versions of the databases are different...

    At the time of restoration, do you perhaps have an option for converting old versions?

    It might be found not in restoration but in the import of the old version.

    When importing, it indeed tells me that the file is in "Auto Entrepreneur facile" mode, which is the older version...
    I can either ignore it or convert it to the new version...

    If I ignore it, nothing happens.
    If I convert it, it makes backups, it restores... and it’s after the restoration that I get this message...

    I suppose that the customer support from Ciel would have told me right away if it was impossible to restore with an old version.

    I should mention that I also tried to recover my data with version 5.0 and 6.1 found online... result: same problem...

    I am in a panic!!!

    So, it seems that the restoration is happening, but your file isn't opening...

    Check the software settings; you might need to redo the paths according to your new computer (backup path, data storage, etc.)

    It could also depend on how you are opening your file... Maybe you shouldn't do it automatically but manually from the "file/open" menu...

    (I don't know CIEL; I'm making suggestions based on EBP)

    I also tried manually, but I always end up at the same point... :(

    I'm trying to find my old version 1.3 online in the meantime because I don't have an installation CD... just to reinstall it on my old PC while waiting... but it's nowhere to be found...

    Any ideas, perhaps?

      The message:
      Error: incorrect parameters
      File: e:\....(path to the file....) .sgind
      indicates that the software continues to look for something on the USB drive while the restoration should be on the internal disk.. that's not normal.

      And installing an old software on this W10 thing is not a very good idea either because W10 has a very different operating logic from XP or Vista. Very few old softwares work, especially those with an SQL database...

      It's a shame you can't access your old computer.. with an export in TXT or CSV it might have been possible to recover the data more easily.. These formats are very convenient for transfers between different software.

    I still have the old PC with Vista and version 1.3 of Ciel, but I can't open it anymore!!!

    To summarize, I have the old PC with the old version that I can no longer open and the new PC with the latest version of Ciel Autoentrepreneur, but I can't recover my backups...

      Check the backup to see if you find the file "config.cam"
      If you have it, copy it to the path where it's missing..
