Connecting THOMSON TV with SHARP soundbar
Solved
Hello,
hello,
I'm discovering this site and I'm submitting my problem:
I have a THOMSON 40FZ5533 television and a SHARP HT-SB106 soundbar
I've connected the two devices via HDMI-ARC but the sound is not coming through the soundbar.
After some research, I saw that THOMSON doesn't actually support ARC or at least doesn't call it that. So I activated T-LINK on the TV and the SPDIF type is set to PCM.
In the sound settings, I've activated SRS TSHD
So, you understand that I don't really know much about this and I'm asking for your help
Thank you in advance and well done to you

Hello and welcome to this forum,
To get the TV sound on the soundbar, you need to connect an optical cable between the optical digital output of your TV and the optical input of your soundbar.
Take a quality cable with a good jacket because optical fiber is very fragile, for example:
And don't forget to remove the plastic protective caps if there are any.
Switch the soundbar to the optical input

Hello, I have noted your solution and will try it. However, until now and before a reset of the TV... the connection and sound worked perfectly via the HDMI/ARC cable. But I had to adjust the TV, and I don't remember what settings I made... THOMSON recognizes ARC but names it differently.
Thank you.
Thank you.
You're welcome, and feel free to come back and give updates or if you have other questions
