Soluble paper clogging

Hello,

I have a problem with my printer (Brother DCP-J132W).
It’s telling me there is a paper jam and that I need to open the lid.

There hasn’t been any paper stuck, the message appeared on its own.

I’ve checked carefully, I opened the printer at the back, I pressed the two green levers, I opened the lid, there’s nothing, I even looked with a flashlight in every nook and cranny, there are no paper residues or anything else. I manually fed a stiff sheet back and forth to dislodge any possible residues, front and back—nothing.

I vacuumed with a keyboard dust wand. Nothing.
I unplugged the printer for a whole night and reset it... Nothing.

Do you by any chance have an idea?

Perhaps the lockdown and home-schooling and its parade of sheets to print will have taken its toll and I’ll need to buy a new one, but I’d still like to try to save it!

Thank you for any help you can provide.

Best regards

    Good evening,

The jam sensor may be faulty, misaligned, or broken. This can happen sometimes. As a result, it permanently detects a jam that doesn’t exist. However, in this case, it should be taken to a repairer.

    Best regards.

Ah.. okay. Given her age and how much she cost me... I don’t think it’s worth repairing it. Thanks for taking the time to respond.

    Hello,

Just in case, you can try it on another PC. Are you using new cartridges or have you recently switched to refurbished or compatible ones?

On my Sony 94440 (multi-function Laser) the problems began when my supplier opted for refurbished toners.

But after unsuccessfully searching for a repairer in the Île-de-France region, I ended up contacting the importer, based in Roissy-Village, who told me that there is no after-sales service for the brand, which I am otherwise satisfied with (a monochrome laser and a color laser near the end of life after more than 10 years of good and loyal service).

    Best regards
