Unable to update Nvidia drivers GTX 1060 6G

I am seeking help as I have exhausted my limited knowledge of computers.

My son has an Asus Rog laptop, equipped with a GTX 1060 6G. To play recent games, he needs the latest drivers, but the PC crashes if we try to install any version (new or old) other than the original one. The PC starts, then a few white lines appear at the bottom of the screen, and before we can log in, the PC goes black and the fans spin at full speed. Formatting and reinstalling Windows is necessary. I have tried driver versions from 2018 to 2020, quick or custom installation, but the same problem occurs. If you have any ideas, thank you in advance... and for him.

    Hello,

    Press Windows + R
    Type --> devmgmt.msc and OK.

    Go to display adapters
    Provide the hardware id of the nVidia card
    See this --> Find a device identification number
    Post the number in your next message.

    Download and install --> 7Zip 64 bits

    Download this driver -->--> nVidia

    Right-click on the driver --> 445.87-notebook-win10-64bit-international-whql.exe
    Select --> 7Zip
    Choose --> extract to ""445.87-notebook-win10-64bit-international-whql\"

    Go to Device Manager
    Right-click on the device
    Update driver
    Browse my computer ......
    Choose from a list of drivers...
    Have Disk
    Browse
    Go to the unzipped driver folder --> 445.87-notebook-win10-64bit-international-whql
    Folder --> Display.Driver
    Select the file --> nvami.inf and OK.
    Restart.

    I did the manipulation, unfortunately, the same result and worse, the PC crashes with the only original driver that was working, making the PC unusable for the moment

    I formatted C and D, but now it crashes with the original driver whereas it was working

    The only thing I managed to do is start in low resolution, which loads the Windows graphics card instead of the GTX

    But that won't allow gaming at all

    I think it's going to have to be a trip to the PC repair shop

    If reinstalling Windows didn't do anything, a repair is necessary.
