Hello everyone,
Here is my problem: for some time now, my desktop PC (after a day's use the night before and its normal shutdown in the evening) doesn't turn on the next day. No LED, no noise, nothing. At first, I thought it was an issue with the power cable or the outlet supplying it; however, the outlet works perfectly (other devices are powered from it) and the cable is fine as well.
I then considered a power supply defect, but the strangest thing is that the PC restarted perfectly when I moved it to another room in my house to plug it (with the same power cable) into a different outlet. After that, I just had to turn it off again via the central unit button, bring it back to its original outlet, and turn it on normally...
I honestly don’t understand; it’s as if my PC needs to receive power from a source other than the one in my room to restart properly the next day. I would like to point out that originally, my PC was plugged into a wall outlet (going through an Ethernet switch) while my monitor was powered through a power strip connected to a second wall outlet. After the first time my PC had this problem, I concluded that my first wall outlet had an issue, so I plugged the PC into the power strip, which is also connected to the second wall outlet via the Ethernet switch.
Is it possible that there is some sort of voltage problem with the wall outlets in my room that would cause my PC to have issues after shutting down, thus requiring it to restart via another outlet and then return to the original outlet each day (which is still quite strange)? Or could the problem be coming from my power supply?
I also want to mention that I built my PC myself a few years ago and that I have recently added an additional hard drive after the first malfunction occurred.
Thank you in advance for your help :)
