Hello,
Is it possible to recover scanned documents that were placed on the desktop but then moved to the trash?
Is there a file where the scans are stored?
And can we recover the same scans from a trash bin that has been emptied?
Thank you in advance
These are important medical documents and I can no longer find the copies I made of the originals.
Best regards
Pierrepaul
Configuration: Windows 10/ Edge 80.0.361.69

Hello Marpir,
On Windows, in the Recycle Bin, you should have an option "restore selected items".
If you find the items you are interested in in the Recycle Bin, you just need to select them and then restore them.
It's doable with a left click on the file and then "restore".
Does this answer your question?
If you have emptied the Recycle Bin, try checking the Temp files of the program you use to scan, you never know.

Hello.
The scans are actually JPEG images. So you can find them using software like Recuva for example ==>

You'll need to change the options to set the language to French and the view to "Thumbnails" to see the images.
Personally, I use Photorec from the Testdisk software, which is more effective than Recuva but has a more complex use and is in English. ==>

In both cases, try to use the PC as little as possible to recover the maximum number of images in good condition. (some will be overwritten and unfortunately unrecoverable)
See you soon . . .
