Is ISC Scrabble completely free? Scam or not?

This is the forum that seemed most appropriate for my problem, as those dedicated to online video games did not seem to fit.

In searching for a way to play Scrabble online for free, I came across the ISC site

The homepage looks a bit outdated, but I managed to sign up. However, there was no mention of paying for registration, a subscription, or any other contribution without my consent.
Yet upon receiving the validation message for my registration, a message quickly and stealthily appeared indicating that I would be charged about $21 through my Apple account.
1° nowhere is it stated that this site is chargeable (See screenshot=
2° I searched in vain for a way to withdraw from this registration or even to cancel it
3° I had an Apple account when I had an iPad and I deleted it when my iPad broke down.

My questions.
Will I be charged unknowingly $21?
Can this site be trusted?
Is it paid or free?
Where can the terms and conditions of sale be found, particularly the cancellation clauses?
