Basic issue with gigaset e560h

Hello,
E560H is the reference of the handset.
Is your base an E560 (one button on the base) or an E560A (integrated answering machine - multiple buttons and a display on the base)?

Is the base properly powered (working power outlet and power supply plug securely inserted)?
Are the batteries correctly installed in the handset (correct orientation and polarities of the batteries respected)?
Are the batteries well charged (light in front of the battery icon)?

Is this phone old? If yes, the batteries need to be replaced.

Thank you for the reply.....it's a Gigaset E560H CORDLESS ..the batteries are new...the base is properly connected and the built-in answering machine icon is lit, but it doesn't always stay on....it's about 2 years old....there you go.....

There you go....I've retested everything and I see that the battery icon does not stay lit..... I therefore think it’s not charging......yet I’ve changed the batteries again and it's the same..... thank you!

re: yes, the answering machine is on and displays the number of messages... only 1 device....

first of all, thank you so much for taking the time to explain all this to me......when I bought my landline from Orange, there were already green batteries (pocket of name) and the rest in Chinese....so not understandable for me.....I changed them 2 times for batteries (Lr3 AAA 1.2 v)....because no one in my circle told me it was a mistake...Anyway, in light of your words, I just fixed it and put the recommended reference...the charging icon is there...it's working. So thank you so much again.....You may have prevented a future accident..... Wishing you all the best...
