Gigaset AS405 Phone Issue Solved

Question

Hello everyone,  I have a Gigaset AS405 phone with three handsets.  I no longer have a dial tone on the phone that is on the base, and when I try to make a call, only three little dashes appear after dialing the number. I've tried resetting it, with no success.  I tried to register it manually on the base, thinking it had unregistered, but I can't get past "base registration"; it stays displayed without being able to enter the PIN code. After about a minute, "registration failed" appears.  I don't know how to solve this, especially since my other handsets are working.  I would like to try changing the order of the handsets, but I'm afraid of messing them all up!  Does anyone have a solution?  PS: I'm a grandma not necessarily up to speed with technical terms, sorry for my inappropriate names!   Configuration: Windows / Firefox 72.0

Good evening,  Thank you for your reply.  It doesn't display any error message; everything is identical to the diagram. It's just when I dial a number that it stops responding, shows the three little dots, and then it goes back to the home screen by itself!  I can't upload the short video I made to show you :-(

Wow, you're really nice, thank you!!  The icon on the left is the one that shows the best connection, the first one. As for the ringtone, it's "unusual," it's a little ringtone like "beepbeepbeep beepbeepbeep," which is not the one I programmed.  I recently put in rechargeable batteries, the kind you find in the regular battery aisle. Are there any special ones that would be suitable for the phone, since they are constantly charging actually...? And yes, the other handsets that are far from the base work normally.

By the way, isn’t the keyboard locked? A long press on the # (hash) key locks or unlocks the keyboard.  That ringtone is strange Make sure that it’s the one you selected that is activated. (Note: 3 options depending on whether it’s the ringtone for external calls, internal calls, or the alarm) Also, check that the batteries are properly installed, with the correct polarity and position (they are upside down) Normally, AAA 1.5v NIMH batteries with at least 450mAh capacity should work without issues  The battery icon, at the top left, should also be normal, fully charged?  Try this  You might need to reselect the ringtone and adjust the volume   -- Very difficult to catch a black cat in a dark room.  Especially when it’s not there...

Hello,  I checked the ringer, the batteries, the keypad (thank you, I discovered it could be blocked), and something changed since I am receiving calls But I can hardly talk: it cuts off immediately, and the handset displays the home screen. Pffff... I'm starting to get fed up with this phone; it's not very cooperative!!  Thank you for your valuable help  Pascale PS: I changed the ringtone and turned the volume up to the max, just in case...

You are a genius!!  Indeed, the batteries (recent ones, nonetheless) have a defect since the problem occurs on the other handset, with the same symptoms! The other batteries purchased in the same pack seem to continue functioning. The difficulty is that the batteries are powerful enough not to show any weakness on the screen, including the charge which remains "full" when in use.  THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR PERSEVERANCE!!  I would like to close the post, but I can't find where to click...
