Hello everyone,
Being a young vinyl enthusiast, I’m calling on your expertise to help me with this technical question:
I inherited my grandmother’s vinyl turntable, a Dual CS 515. I’m very happy with it, the sound is great... but I have a small drawback. When I trigger the tonearm from its resting position to place it at the start of a record, instead of starting to spin, the turntable sometimes doesn’t start right away. This isn’t the case every time, but it happens quite frequently (about 3 times out of 5). So I place the diamond at the beginning of the disk, and suddenly, for no reason I can identify, it starts working after 5, 10, or even 15 minutes, it depends.
Besides that, everything works wonderfully so I don’t really want to replace it, especially since it has sentimental value. Do you think there is a specific part I should replace?
Thanks in advance to everyone

I have the same problem. It's the switch contactor that doesn't trigger right away when the arm moves toward the disk and stays a bit stuck. There should be a small click when it works. It is a red spring-loaded switch located near the arm and visible under the chassis through an opening. With contact cleaner sprayed through the opening, things can improve... It's a recurring failure... Additionally, I have an issue with the arm return.
Best regards.-
Ok great! Thanks a lot, I’ll look into it.
PS: I also have a problem with the arm return: when it reaches the end of the disk, it only lifts up but does not go back to its initial position. I had solved the issue by reducing the weight on the needle a bit, but at the slightest defect, no matter how minor, the disk would start spinning as if it were scratched. I then considered a balancing problem. So I ordered the original cartridge from the internet, but that didn’t change anything. To this day, I haven’t found a solution to the problem.
