Hello,

I'm using a Samsung J3 2017, on Snapchat, I received an emoji that is replaced by a question mark. All my emojis work but some are missing. I already went to the Messaging app, [Settings] > [More settings] > [SMS] > [Input mode] > [Automatic] but it's not working. My Samsung keyboard is updated, I don't know what to do.
Could you please help me?

Thanks in advance!

Hello,

There’s nothing that can be done (to my knowledge). Except buy a device with the most advanced operating system!

If this person sends you those same emojis via WhatsApp or Messenger (where the emoji codec is read without going through the operating system), it should work :-)
That’s indeed why they appear the same across all devices.

Illustrations of the “phenomenon” (with the Kik app that uses the device’s operating system because the emoji presentation is different):

PS: This party emoji (from the example) works with Android 9.1.1 ;-)

Please keep me updated => “It’s resolved thanks to / I found it had to” or “Still in a deadlock”
because I often have several steps and always have a trick up my sleeve!!!

Hello,

I found the issue, my phone was just not updated, but after installing Gboard before the update, I've kept the Google emojis on Instagram and I still can't figure out how to fix this problem. For a moment it was resolved, but after restarting the app, the problem came back. Could you please help me?
Thanks in advance!

On Instagram, I find these emojis:
And of course, only Instagram is affected by the problem; all other applications have Samsung emojis.

In the image above, some are from an old version, but obviously on Instagram these emojis are up to date.
