Iphone 8 SIM tray does not close completely

Hello,
So here is my problem: I wanted to insert my new SIM card into my iPhone 8 + because I recently changed my plan. I opened the tray using the little tool provided by Apple, removed my old Nano SIM, and put in the new one. Then I tried to close the tray; it closes to 90%, but it doesn't go all the way in, and the SIM card is not detected. What should I do?
You can definitely feel that it’s not fully inserted because the touch is not smooth.
So I’m stuck with my iPhone unusable until the problem is resolved.
