Hello everyone, I need help. I've inserted my SIM card tray upside down in my iPhone 8 and now it won't come out. I've been told that I need to completely disassemble the iPhone to get it out. Is that really the only solution?

Hello,
Indeed, in this case, the SIM card is in a blocking position of the anti-return type...
I know a solution that requires time and patience, which is to use a set of mechanical adjustment shims or "thickness gauges".
Here is an image https://www.car-concept.fr/p/jeu-de-cales-de-reglage-jauge-d-epaisseur
You need to take a 0.2 mm shim, slide it between the drawer and the iPhone, on the side where the SIM card is located... and by feel, without forcing it, manage to push it in about 10 to 15 mm, then pull the drawer and the shim at the same time.
The orientation of the iPhone is important...
The SIM card in its tray is normally on the screen side... So you, on the contrary, it is on the back side... although impossible, you must have forced it...
So you must place it with the screen against the table, and slide your shim between the drawer and the iPhone.
Hoping it slides well between the contacts and the card...
Above all, do not force the drawer back... The risk is to bend the contacts of the card, against the grain... and if you break them, it's a fragile and brittle metal; in this case, the iPhone is dead...
There you go, my extreme solution that may require 50 attempts for success...
That said, I believe the drawer is available as a spare part... so you could sacrifice your drawer to perform this operation and replace it afterward.
