16 GB of RAM installed but only 12 usable?

Hello, I previously had 8 GB of RAM, usable 8 GB, but this was greatly limiting for gaming. Since then, I added another 8 GB (4 x 4 GB), but since that installation, Windows indicates in the task manager that I only have 12 GB usable and has thus allocated 4 GB (one complete stick). Is there a solution to this or is there nothing I can do? Thank you for your responses.

Good evening,

To see:
1) Type msconfig in the Search programs and files box, then click on msconfig in the Programs list.
2) In the System Configuration window, click on Advanced options under the Startup tab.
3) Uncheck the Maximum memory box, then click OK.
4) Restart the computer.

Good evening, I was just looking at some forums and I just did this manipulation, it hasn't changed anything, still showing 16GB, 12 usable.

Maybe the motherboard only supports 12 GB.
What does CPU-Z say?

My motherboard is an AsRock 970 pro3 r2.0, my CPU is an AMD FX-8320, I have checked the compatibilities and everything is fine, my motherboard can support up to 32GB of RAM.

Ok, so that works. Are the RAM sticks from the same brand? There are 4 sticks in total, right?
Logically, on the motherboard, the slots work in pairs, so you need to install sticks from different brands in slots of the same color.

They are all from the same brand, they are Kingston HyperX 4GB DDR3, plugged in 1 / 2, the only difference between the old ones and the new ones is that the old ones are the black edition and the new ones are the blue edition.

You need to try, if not done, to put the black editions on A1 and B1, the blue editions on A2 and B2, and to swap one brand on A1 A2 and the other on B1 B2.
