Samsung T5 SSD Eject

Hello everyone,

I have a Samsung T5 external hard drive that often had trouble being ejected by my MacBook Pro. While looking into it, I realized that it was related to Spotlight. This issue has now been resolved. However, having to forcefully eject the drive once or twice, and possibly even removing it once without ejecting it, could that have caused any loss or corruption of some previously saved data (it's difficult to check all of them)?

Thank you very much for your replies.

    Hello,

If your SSD is corrupted, it would probably not be accessible. If the SSD remains accessible, there is no problem for now, but remember to always safely eject your SSD:

    Thank you for your response.

However, even if the SSD itself is not corrupted, could one of the files (an image for example) have been?

    Good evening,

It's possible, but since the disk is in good condition, I would say that the files are also in good shape.

    Best regards,

    Another little tip...

When you delete files from the SSD, you also need to go and empty the trash, otherwise you risk corrupting your SSD.

    Good luck,

Hello, I just bought a T5 and I'm having the same problem. In fact, it takes a while to eject even after I've tried several times. Were you able to solve it? And what exactly is this Spotlight business?
