identify duplicate words Solved

Good evening,

I am looking to identify all the duplicate words in a text. I would like to know if there is a function in Word, Open Office, or any other software.

The goal is simple: copy/paste a text, press a button, and have the identical words highlighted or underlined (to differentiate them from the words that are not duplicates).

Hello.

If such a tool existed, it would highlight:
- all articles (the, a, the, one, some ...),
- all possessive adjectives (my, your, his, her, our, your, their)
- all personal pronouns (I, you, he, she, we, you, they, one, me, you, him, their, it ...),
- all relative pronouns (who, that, whose, where, what, which, to which, from which + their feminine/plural)
- all possessive pronouns (mine, yours, his, ours, yours, theirs + their feminine/plural)
etc.
I suggest you to spot the words that you feel you have read (or written) several times, and use Find (Ctrl+F) to get the number of occurrences of each. https://www.pcastuces.com/pratique/astuces/2560.htm

However, don't despair: I think I remember that m@rina or another office specialist proposed a technique, one day ... This person might read your message and provide a clue!

Hello,

I do have a solution that involves a macro. I don't see how we can do otherwise.

Be aware, it may take some time, as Word needs to analyze each word... This macro works on a selection. So select before running the macro.

if I put 4 instead of 5, the search will be performed on words with 4 characters or more?

however there are still some misses, it doesn't work 100% but it's already very effective
