Hello, I've been wondering since I got my Chromecast if it's possible to cast a video (like on YouTube for example) but have the sound from the video come out of my phone's headset so I don't disturb my roommates in the other room? Thanks for your answers!

Yes, it's possible!
I do it every night when I don't want to disturb my partner.

You need an app that is easy to use, and it will allow you to cast just the image. When you start your video, there will be some small adjustments to make on your part so that the sound matches the image.

Hello,

What prevents you from plugging a headset into the television?

Some recent televisions do not have a headphone jack, but there are converters for line or optical audio output to headphone.

There are also wireless headsets (Philips, Sennheiser) that can be plugged into a headphone jack, but I find them expensive compared to their usefulness.

  I'm following up on your response as I have a similar problem; my projector doesn't have a headphone jack... Only inputs! And the sound is really not great from the projector's mini speaker!
  If I cast from a computer, will I have more functionalities?

Hello everyone. I'm facing the same issue. I have a Chromecast connected to my TV and a Nest Mini speaker. I managed to cast a video to my TV with the sound coming from my Nest Mini only once by some obscure means that I can no longer remember. Unfortunately, I can't seem to do it again. If someone knows a way, I would appreciate it.

  You just need to open the video you want to cast twice.
  The first YouTube window casts via ChromeCast and you mute the TV sound
  
  The second video, the sound will be on the PC which you can redirect wherever you want.

  No, unfortunately I still haven't managed to do it again. It's possible, though; by fiddling around, I was able to have the video sent from my phone to the Chromecast and I had started the sound of that same video on the Nest Mini. If anyone really knows how to do it…

  Open the same video twice in two different windows.
  
  The first one to cast on the TV but mute the TV sound.
  
  The second one, the sound will be on the PC, so redirect it via Bluetooth.
  
  The only downside: you need to synchronize the two videos.
