Good evening

I download about several movies and series for a total of 150 GB per month (in addition to my daily activity), so I wanted to know if with a mobile plan of 100 GB, after downloading a movie for example of 8 GB I will have 92 GB left or do the 100 GB correspond to something else?? In short, are the data used for downloads counted towards the plan?

      You can do whatever you want until there has been a traffic of 100 GB on this subscription.

      Generally, a box is unlimited, so there is no question of a quota. Except for those specific to file hosting sites, etc. but that's another matter.

    Theoretically yes, but often not quite. Because anything that requires internet access not through mobile networks will be counted.

    For example, to download your movie you will first have to find it on the website or the app you are using. And just displaying images, texts, trailers, etc. consumes data.

    Software that connects in the background, for example, to check for updates, etc. also consumes data.

    But after a certain data quota, it becomes more or less insignificant. So with 100 GB, there shouldn't be much to worry about. But of course, any usage you make via the internet on this subscription will be counted, whether downloading or not.

    But aside from all that, yes, a movie of 8 GB, once downloaded, will have consumed 8 GB of data on its own, excluding what might be consumed in parallel.

    Hi,

    A 10GB file can actually require 10.2GB or 10.1GB to download. Indeed, there are headers and other overhead when you download a file. Not to mention that sometimes a portion of the data might be received incorrectly and needs to be downloaded again. Even if it’s transparent to you, it still consumes a little more.

    Besides that, as already mentioned, there's browsing, and there’s also upstream communication, not just downstream… etc., etc.

    100GB means 100GB of traffic. An 8GB movie can represent more traffic depending on how you obtain it.

    And I'm not even talking about streaming, which can actually be even more bandwidth-consuming, just like downloading via P2P or through VPNs.
