Hello,
As a very modest handyman, I managed to change the screen on my Asus R700vj laptop.
It works now, but sometimes it goes blank. In particular, the screen sometimes stays black on startup. It's not the graphics card, as evidenced by a second screen connected externally. It could be the video cable - my clumsiness or a long-standing issue that wasn't detected (or a new one, for that matter).
Symptom: I turn on the laptop, the screen is black, but if I manipulate the lid - opening and closing it - the image comes back. I'm almost sure it's a bad connection at the video cable. But I still have a doubt: after a certain time, the screen stops responding to the manipulations of the lid and works steadily. Does anyone have the key to this last problem? Thank you for your time. -

    Hello,

Considering that you changed the panel, it is very possible that the connector in the cover, at the back of the panel, has slightly come loose... when you fit it, there’s a locking click or little clips on both sides, did you secure all that properly?? And for added security, we put strong adhesive tape to properly hold the connector and prevent it from disconnecting (clear tape sticks better than the "invisible" one)... and also a few centimeters lower to tape the ribbon cable to the back of the panel... We must ensure that no tugging can alter the position of the already very tiny contacts...

There’s also a possibility of a wire break in the cable that passes through the hinge... If that’s the case, there are marks; it is damaged... and this happens more often with older laptops... We need to check...
