All selected icons at once Solved

Question

Hello,

So here it is...
I'm on Windows XP and I have a wireless Logitech keyboard and mouse.
Sometimes, when I try to select an icon on the desktop, all the icons get selected automatically...
This doesn't happen every time, and restarting the computer usually fixes things.
However, it's annoying...
Has anyone else encountered this problem and knows a possible solution?

Hi,
it’s possible that the keyboard/mouse signals are interfering. If when you select the icons you press the SHIFT or CTRL key to select multiple ones, your computer might think that the key is still being held down, which causes it to select a lot. The solution I found: I had two different receivers (1 mouse/1 keyboard) and I moved them apart from each other, and when it happened, instead of restarting, you just need to press the SHIFT key 2/3 times and the same with the CTRL key. There you go, try that and let me know

Hi,  The downside is that even if I press the MA and CTRL keys, I can't even unselect the icons that are already selected!!!

Right-click on the desktop, select Properties.
In the Desktop tab, click on "Desktop Customization".
Select the Web tab and uncheck all boxes.
or
Right-click on My Computer, select Properties.
In the "Advanced" tab, click on Settings located in the "Performance" box.
In the Custom Settings, check "Use shadows for icon labels on the desktop".
Our goal will be to check and uncheck this box until the icons become transparent.
Confirm and repeat the process if necessary.

Hello everyone, it’s been several months now that I've been dealing with this issue where all the icons are selected with a single click and also the uppercase is activated inversely, and some keys like @ are blocked, making it hard for me to type normally on my keyboard. Your solution didn’t help me, I also tried the method where you have to press the right shift for a few seconds, but it only worked for a while and then the same problem keeps coming back. I managed to figure out how to write this message. Also, web pages keep opening endlessly when I try to open a tab. I’m counting on your help please.

Hello, I also have the same issue with the icons being selected multiple times during a single selection. I tried the method given without success. I even connected an external keyboard and mouse to my PC, but I haven't been able to resolve this issue that's been lasting for several months now. Please help me. Even after the Windows 10 update, I still have this problem. I really don't know what to do anymore.
