Hello everyone!

I'm reaching out for your help because I can't save my Word file.

I've never had any problems before; I have Windows 7 with an official Office 2013 license.

It's a file with text and images, I can save it as a PDF, but when I click on 'Save As', it starts saving but doesn’t finish, then it reopens the 'Save As' window and so on...

Hello,

is it true with all kinds of Word files..?

Maybe you are saving to a USB drive that is not large enough...?
Your photos might be too large...?
What is the size of your Word file..?
If your drive is formatted in FAT32 and you exceed 4GB, it won't work..
What is your version of Windows...? 32 or 64 bits...?

Hello,

Thank you for your response. I tried saving it in version 2003, it works, but it shifts all my images, which is not what I want, and it removes my header...
I'm saving it on my PC where there are still 2GB free
Regarding the photo, I don't think that's the issue because I have already created documents with far more images and I didn't have this kind of problem... and I am on 64-bit version.

Hello

If this happens with all the files, the easiest way is to close all applications, and via the control panel, run a repair of MS Office.
This will probably fix the problem.

No, it doesn't happen with all the files; I'm working on others right now, even larger ones, and I'm not having any issues.
I have the file that is not saving open at the moment because if I close it without being able to save, I lose it (or I recover an intermediate version that I can't save either).

What is surprising is that in reality, the file saves in the folder I want, and as a result, I find a file with the name I saved it as, but when I open it, the file is empty, as if it couldn't save completely...

If this only happens with this file or certain specific files as Jeannets mentioned, then it's a file corruption issue, which happens from time to time.
Unfortunately, if you don't have a backup version (made before the problem appeared), there isn't really a solution. You can try opening Word first (without double-clicking the file) and then using "open" to select your file, and on the open button, there is a small dropdown list that allows you to "repair and open".

From experience, it often doesn't work, but it doesn't hurt to try.

Too bad... I can recover the file but it's in .asd format, I've never seen that before... Maybe a clue on that side?
The problem is that I can't click to open it since the file isn't saved anywhere, or maybe they are empty files...
I tried selecting everything and copying but with no luck...

And when I want to delete these empty files, I can't delete any of them, even if I've given them different names, it says that it's open in an application and that I can't delete it...
