Hello everyone,
I currently have a problem with my automatic numbering in Word (version 365). I want to use the multilevel list to format my headings as follows:
I. Title 1
A. Title 2
1. Title 3

However, when I click on this type of list with the cursor on a paragraph styled as Title 1, it only numbers the current Title 1 and does not update the Title 1 style, and even worse, it does not touch my Titles 2, 3, and so on. When I force the numbering using simple numbering outside the list, it gives me this:
I. Title1
A. Title2
1. Title3
2. Title3
II. Title1
B. Title 2
3. Title3
The problem is significant...

I’m at my wit's end, this feature worked very well in Word 2010, but those days are gone!...
Thank you in advance for your help and have a good day/evening!

Hello,

So Word 2010 up to Word 365, nothing new regarding hierarchical numbering which works exactly the same way since version 2007.

Probably the numbering has not been assigned to the styles.
Follow the procedure below to the letter:

From now on, if a user tells me "it's not working" without any further info..., I'm giving up!
