Scanning in jpg instead of pdf

Hello,

I would like some help understanding why, overnight, my scans are being saved as JPG instead of PDF. I would like it to work like it did before instead of having to download software to read it in PDF.
The document is for an administrative procedure.

Configuration: Windows / Chrome 74.0.3729.169

The why is not important... ☺
Generally, this is set in the scan configuration, like choosing the export file, you need to dig a little.
Since you aren't specifying which scan it is...
but it's pretty much the same for all scans.

Yes, I'm sorry for this oversight to both of you. My printer is an HP Photosmart C4680, and I cannot access the menu on the printer. The menu light is off on the scan function. Can we access it elsewhere on the PC?

By typing your 2nd entry, I have the same photo as you. On the welcome line, I right-clicked and selected "save as," and then a window opened up. What should I do? Thank you.

"Save as" then choose the desired file format from the list below the file name.
Either Jpg or jpeg depending on what is offered.

When I select the folder of my scans (at the top), in "type" at the bottom there is no "pdf", which is what I want to open these files! They always opened in pdf and suddenly jpg.

In this case, it's not at this level that you should look.
You probably need to reinstall the software that came with the scanner, which likely allows for direct management to PDF in some configuration.

The page with the information/drivers/program of your printer can be found HERE
There is no program version for Win10, but that's not a problem; it's very likely that it will work.

Hello, is it free on the link to download the drivers etc.? I can no longer use my installation CD because my PC drawer won't open anymore.
