    As long as you have an e-reader (ideally in color) and you have the manga files, yes it's free (since your request is to READ).
    And yes, there are various ways to transfer them, either via internet connection or through a PC, and this will depend on the type of e-reader you purchased.

    However, to find the files, unless they have been made public domain (very rare), like all books they are subject to copyright, and therefore you have to purchase them.
