Hello,
I bought a Microsoft Office package (2007) a few years ago. Then came the time when we were urged by Microsoft to migrate to a Windows 2010 version, which was known to have "a lot of bugs." At that time, I was satisfied with my Office package; so I ignored the invitation... and time passed.
Recently, in May 2019, I keep encountering "compatibility" messages in Excel as well as Word, which bothers me, and every time, I fear losing part of my documents.
I should mention here that my PC is running on Windows 8.1. (Yes, I didn't migrate in time there either...).
My wish today is obviously to try to upgrade my Office package - without buying another one - and to get rid of these compatibility messages.
- Is it possible?
- And if so, what should I do?
Thank you very much in advance to those who are always full of ideas and solutions for helping me!
Sincerely,
Monikamedis

Hello
2 points.
1) I'm surprised about the accounting software because, except for the "advanced" file, even 2007 should be able to read more recent files. However, yes, you will have alerts, and if you regularly exchange with people who are using more recent versions, it can be a hassle.
2) Upgrading from 2007 to 2010 is pointless; 2010 has been "obsolete" for a while now, so if you’re going to make the leap, you might as well upgrade to 2016 or 2019, or even Office 365.
Best regards

but "HOW" do I do it:
- what procedure should I follow (tutorial?)?
- where can I find it (link)?
that's the crux of my question because indeed, I exchange a lot and I'm overwhelmed by the compatibility displays...

Then proceed to checkout like for any software purchase.
Once purchased, it will need to be installed on a machine, and if it's a 2019 version, it's better to uninstall the 2007 version.
Also, be careful not to install a recent version on a very old PC, as it could cause quite a few problems.
